About The Artist
My name is Nicole Donovan, though I go through a handful of online pseudonyms (Sokalo, Cole, Blackjack). I am a part-time illustrator and graphic designer living in the great state of Texas. Whenever I'm not working at my station I can usually be found at my other part-time job, spending time with my wonderful boyfriend, or hitting up my local craft stores.
My focus in art is primarily directed at anthropomorphic and animal work; growing up with animals (an odd array of cats, dogs, fish, rabbits, and birds) has given me a deep respect for the creatures we share the world with, and a desire to capture them in a creative light. Though I have a fondness for all creatures my favorite has always been the cat, big or small. This is the animal that I have the closest spiritual connection to. The cat has been a guiding symbolic force throughout my life. I've been drawing animals from the very first time I could lift a crayon, and my passion for it has done nothing but grow.
